Gallatin Dental, Embassy Suites named ‘Businesses of the Year’

DOWNEY – Gallatin Dental Group and Embassy Suites were honored as Businesses of the Year by the Downey Chamber of Commerce last month.

Gallatin Dental won in the in small business category, while Embassy Suites was honored as the large business winner.

“We congratulate these businesses for their prosperity and involvement to make Downey a better community,” the Downey Chamber said in a statement.

Joanna Peterson, who handles public relations for Gallatin Dental, also was honored by the chamber as its volunteer of the year.

Cindy Kovach, of U.S. Bank, was name director of the year.

The June 11 event also marked the chamber’s 111th anniversary. Certificates were given to businesses with five, 10, 15 and 20 years of membership; companies with membership of 25 years and more received plaques.

Downey Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning (55 years) and Frantone’s Pizza (50 years) received special recognition.
