Edwin Bauer mourned by family

DOWNEY – Edwin J. Bauer died peacefully at his home Aug. 12 after a long illness. Originally from Omaha, Neb., he was born April 13, 1928 and was a Naval veteran. A longtime businessman in the Downey area, he lived in La Mirada for 42 years, then became a resident of Fullerton.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bauer; sons, Joseph Bauer and Jeff Bauer; daughter, Jennifer Bauer Smith; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Sept. 13, at Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints in La Mirada.
