Dozens arrested at checkpoints Friday
NORWALK – Nearly two dozen people were arrested at a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint in Norwalk last Saturday night. Sheriff’s deputies arrested 20 drivers for driving without a license.
Two people were arrested on DUI charges.
More than 1,800 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, which was located at Imperial Highway and Bloomfield Avenue.
In Pico Rivera, 11 drivers were arrested at a checkpoint on Whittier Boulevard, west of Paramount Boulevard.
Seven unlicensed drivers were arrested, along with two drivers with suspended or revoked licenses.
Two suspected drunk drivers were also arrested.
A checkpoint in Paramount resulted in five arrests, including one driver caught with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia while driving a stolen vehicle.
