Crime Report

Thursday, July 24 At 11:30 a.m., officers were sent to the 10000 block of Imperial Highway regarding a vandalism investigation. When officers arrived they spoke with a witness who reported he observed a male spray painting on a wall of Calvary Chapel. Officers searched the area and located the spray-painted graffiti. A short time later the juvenile suspect was found and arrested for the vandalism.

 

At 12:00 p.m., officers were driving in the area of Firestone Blvd. and Lakewood Blvd. when their in-car license plate reader alerted them of a stolen car in the area. Officers began searching for the vehicle and immediately located it. After back up officers arrived a traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle was arrested for Grand Theft Auto. The vehicle was returned to its owner.

 

Friday, July 25

At 10:45 p.m., officers responded to the 9900 block of Lakewood Blvd. regarding a traffic collision. Responding officers located a semi-truck with an attached trailer that had been rear ended by a Chevrolet Astro Van. One of the passengers of the van suffered severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Traffic detectives responded and conducted a traffic investigation. The van had three other passengers who suffered mild to moderate injuries and were treated at local hospitals. The driver of the semi-truck did not suffer any injuries.

 

Thursday, July 31

At 2:00 p.m., officers responded to the 12700 block of Lakewood Blvd. regarding a residential burglary investigation. Responding officers met with the victim who reported seeing a male suspect inside of the residence attempting to take items. The male suspect fled when he was confronted by the resident. The suspect was able to take miscellaneous items from the residence prior to leaving. Officers searched the area and did not locate the suspect. Detectives are investigating.
