Crime Report

Friday, May 2 At 6:40 p.m., Officers were at the intersection of Neo St. and Haro Ave. when they observed a vehicle that had been taken in a carjacking from a neighboring city. Officers contacted the driver who matched the description of the suspect. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle returned to the owner.

 

At 10:15 p.m., Officers responded to the 8000 block of 7th Street regarding subjects smoking marijuana. Officers contacted three juveniles who were found to be in possession of marijuana. They were issued citations and released to their parents.

 

Saturday, May 3

At 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic collision at the intersection of Springer St. and Paramount Blvd. A single vehicle struck the curb and then a telephone pole, downing the pole. The vehicle overturned before it came to rest. The driver was found to be driving under the influence and was arrested. The driver and two passengers sustained only minor injuries.

 

Sunday, May 4

At 2:40 a.m., Officers responded to the 9400 block of Firestone Blvd., regarding a possible strong arm robbery. Officers contacted the victim who reported she was walking on Firestone Blvd., when she was approached by a male suspect who forcefully removed a plastic bag containing the victim’s jewelry. The suspect fled on foot with the victim’s property. The victim was not injured. Detectives are investigating.

 

At 9:30 p.m., Officers responded to CVS pharmacy (8008) Firestone Blvd. regarding a strong arm robbery. Store employees reported a suspect exited the store with a cart full of items and when confronted by a store employee, the suspect warned that he was in possession of a gun. The victim backed away and the suspect loaded the items into his vehicle and fled. Detectives are investigating.
