Thursday, April 3 At 12:25 a.m., officers responded to the 7600 block of Cecilia regarding a traffic collision involving a fire hydrant that was sheered off. During the investigation, the driver displayed the symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Officers conducted a field Driving Under the Influence investigation and arrested the driver, for drunk driving.

 

At 12:30 p.m., officers responded to 8506 Paramount Blvd (Boost Mobile store) regarding a robbery investigation. Officers spoke with the victim who reported a male suspect entered the store pulled out a firearm and demanded cash and cell phones. The victim gave the money and cell phones to the suspect who ran out of the store with the items. Detectives are investigating.

 

Sunday, April 6

At 6:00 a.m., an injury traffic collision occurred in the intersection of Lakewood and Florence. A vehicle driving northbound Lakewood entered the intersection and broadsided a vehicle driving westbound on Florence. The driver of the vehicle traveling westbound Florence sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries and was arrested and booked for DUI.

 

At 3:00 p.m., officers responded to the Sizzler restaurant at 10315 Lakewood regarding an armed robbery in progress. As officers arrived, the suspect vehicle was seen leaving the location. When police units approached the suspect vehicle, the occupants fled on foot. A containment area was set up and three suspects were taken into custody. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered loss from the victims and a firearm used in the robbery. The suspects were arrested and booked for robbery.

 

At 8:30 p.m., a female was putting air in her tire at the AM/PM Arco Gas Station at 10808 Lakewood and left her vehicle unlocked and keys in the ignition. A male suspect entered the

vehicle and began driving away. The victim jumped on the car and held onto the passenger window as the car was moving.She was dragged several feet until she fell off, causing minor

injury. The suspect drove away from the location. Detectives are investigating.
