Club needs back-to-school supplies

DOWNEY – The Downey Lions Club is asking the community for donations as it looks to help up to 100 needy students with backpacks filled with school supplies. The club is in need of pencils, pens, paper, crayons, glue sticks, calculators and snacks. They are also collecting monetary donations to help 10-20 students buy back-to-school clothing.

Donations need to be turned in before Sunday. Checks should be made payable to Downey Lions Club.
