Cerritos Center releases 2014-15 schedule
CERRITOS – Former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno will open the 2014-15 season at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) with appearances Sept. 27-28 The a capella doo-wop ensemble Street Corner Renaissance opens the show.
The upcoming 2014-15 season lineup – publicly released Monday – includes performers in music, children’s entertainment and Broadway. There will be concerts by Grammy winners Sergio Mendes and B.J. Thomas; Peter Cetera; country music icon Josh Turner; and Wilson Phillips and Billy Ocean.
The season also offers ukulele guru Jake Shimabukuro, the California Guitar Trio and Montreal Guitar Trio, and Stayin’ Alive – One Night of the
Bee Gees.
Family-friendly fare features Popovich Comedy Pet Theater, “The
Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon”, and “Rumplestiltskin.”
CCPA favorites and returning acts include Merry-Achi Christmas, Colors of
Christmas, and saxophonist Dave Koz.
The 2014-2015 Broadway series includes “I Love Lucy Live on Stage,”
“Camelot,” “Mamma Mia!” and “Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story.”
The Memory Lane series showcases “The New Christy Minstrels,” “Tribute to the Hollywood Icons,” “Tribute to Glenn Miller & the Band Leaders,” and the Count Basie Orchestra with special guest Carmen Bradford.
Rob Kapilow’s “What Makes It Great?” series features Schubert Unfinished
Symphony, The Songs of Jerome Kern, and “Pictures at an Exhibition – Mussorgsky.”
The CCPA offers a choose-your-own-season package in which patrons can customize their own season with five or more performances and receive a 10 percent discount if orders are placed by July 31.
