Rose Float's 'Princess For a Day' event March 8

DOWNEY - The Downey Rose Float Association is hosting its annual Princess For a Day event for young girls ages 5-12 on Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Downey Elks Lodge.

Participating girls will experience what it's like to be a princess for one day, creating tiara crafts, going through interviews, taking photos, have their hair and makeup done, and having lunch with Miss Downey Royalty.

Girls are encouraged to dress in their favorite princess costume or purchase a royalty T-shirt from the Rose Float Association for $10.

Cost to participate in Princess For a Day is $25. Preregistration will be held Feb. 22 from 2-5 p.m. at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center. The event is limited to 125 girls.

All proceeds will benefit the Rose Float's 2015 entry in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
