Police collect 400 pounds of unwanted drugs

DOWNEY - More than 400 pounds of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted drugs were collected at a prescription drug take-back event hosted by the Downey Police Department last Saturday.All of the drugs were properly disposed by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency, authorities said. The event was part of a national effort to combat prescription drug abuse.
