Leonore Julia Stroh

Leonore Julia Stroh, born April 11, 1919, died peacefully on April 3, 2013 in her home in Downey, California. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Alvin. She is survived by son, Duane C. Stroh and wife Susan, and daughter Julie Stroh, and her partner Cylvia Santillan. She also leaves her beloved grandson, Christopher Stroh, whom she enjoyed humorous conversations with as well as watching his baseball games through the years.Leonore's career as a legal secretary for J. Patrick Conroy Law Offices in Downey spanned close to 25 years. Leonore was active in many civic organizations that included The Downey Women's Club, The Newcomer's Club, and Friends of the Downey City Library. And when not volunteering, she enjoyed her passion of reading books and playing bridge with her longtime friends, and love of animals as well as her beautiful orange tree orchard. She was a bright light in our hearts and lived a long wonderful life filled with many blessings. A rosary will be held April 11 between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Miller-Mies Mortuary: 11015 Downey Ave., Downey, CA 90241. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on April 12, at St. Raymond's Catholic Church, 12348 Paramount Blvd, Downey, CA 90242 at 10:30 a.m. The graveside services will take place at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Rd, Whittier, CA 90601 immediately following the service.
