City wants input on parks plan

DOWNEY - Downey residents are invited to get involved in planning the city's first ever Parks & Recreation Master Plan, a document that will set a future direction for Downey parks, programs, services and capital improvements over the next 10 years.A meeting is scheduled for this Saturday at Apollo Park at 9:30 a.m. Future meetings are set for Feb. 6 at City Hall (6:30 p.m.) and Feb. 9 at Furman Park (9:30 a.m.) "This is a great opportunity to become involved as we prepare for the future of Downey Parks & Recreation," city officials said in a statement.
