Thursday, November 24 (Thanksgiving):
No newsworthy incidents.
Friday, November 25:
At 12:45 p.m., officers responded to the 12500 block of Bellder Drive regarding a possible burglary. The homeowner had returned home and discovered a couple on his property and notified police. Upon arrival, officers determined the suspects had made entry into the victim’s residence through a window. Both suspects were arrested for burglary.
At 8:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Stonewood Mall regarding a possible stolen vehicle. Officers located the car in the Stonewood Shopping Center parking lot and detained the two occupants. The driver was arrested for grand theft auto and the passenger was arrested for a weapons charge.
Saturday, November 26:
Officers extra patrolled the downtown area on Saturday night. During this time, they issued four citations for alcohol related incidents and one traffic citation.
Sunday, November 27:
At 7:00 a.m., an officer was assaulted while attempting to arrest an intoxicated man outside the laundromat at 11839 Lakewood. The officer was not injured and the suspect was arrested for assaulting a police officer and public drunkenness.
At 6:54 p.m., officers responded to Wyman’s liquor (9300 Firestone Blvd), regarding the store clerk detaining a female for shoplifting. During the arrest, the suspect kicked an officer in his chest. The officer was not injured and the suspect was arrested for the theft and assaulting a police officer.
At 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the 8100 block of 7th Street regarding a suspicious male possibly stealing gas from a parked vehicle. When officers arrived and attempted to pat-down the suspect for weapons, the suspect assaulted the officer and attempted to run. A good Samaritan assisted the officer in subduing the suspect until additional officers could arrive. During the altercation, the officer broke a bone in his hand. The suspect was arrested for the theft and assaulting a police officer.
