Woman Rescued

An 88-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital after her vehicle was involved in a traffic collision at Downey Avenue and Gardendale Street at about 10 a.m. Monday. Downey firefighters removed the car's passenger door to extricate the woman. Paramedics transported her to St. Francis Medical Center.
