Winnie Mary Hopkins

August 29,1921 - October 20, 2023

Born Aug 29,1921 in Downey, CA as Mary Leona Mussachia.

She attended primary school in Downey in a 1 room schoolhouse.

She attended HS at St Anthony’s Catholic School in Long Beach, then learned to become a switchboard operator at Los Angeles Trade School.

Winnie married the love of her life, Hays Hamilton Hopkins, on Feb 5, 1950. They lived in Downey & started their family.

Cathy 1952, John 1955, Lisa 1956, & Maureen 1958.

Winnie was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She passed away on Oct 20, 2023 in her home in Downey, at the age of 102!

She is survived by her 4 children, 10 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was the greatest Wife, Mom, Aunt, Friend, Grammie & “GG”
