Who thought a median on Paramount Boulevard was a good idea?
Dear Editor:
I am dumbstruck that our city planners decided that a center divider requiring plants, water and maintenance on Paramount Boulevard takes precedence over our poorly maintained streets in Downey.
It is like going to an empty refrigerator and deciding that a Brazilian blowout, costing several hundred dollars, is more important than food.
Also, what department determines which streets are to be repaired? My street has not been slurry sealed in over 20 years. Third Street is terrible, and Old River School Road, between Firestone and Imperial, is horrible.
Come on guys! Serviceability overrides beauty every time.
