Who is funding candidates' election campaigns?
DOWNEY - Four of six candidates reported receiving monetary contributions between July 1 and Sept. 24 in anticipation of this year’s election. Financial disclosures are reported and filed with the city clerk on a California 460 form.
District 2
Hector Sosa significantly out raised his competition, raising $28,600, reporting no loans. His most significant financial contribution comes attached to property management company L’Abri Management, who gave him $1,000 in addition to $1,000 he received from owner Ron Kolar. He also shares several contributors with Councilwoman Claudia M. Frometa, whom he did some campaigning with.
At a total of $21,317.86, Sosa outspent all other candidates, mostly on campaign consultations, literature and paraphernalia/misc.
