West students receive awards

DOWNEY - West Middle School honored its outstanding eighth-graders at a campus awards ceremony June 15.Tristan Esparza was awarded Athlete of the Year and Conor Hill as Scholar Athlete. Marlene Arceo won the American Legion Award, while Bianca Bolanos earned the Character Counts Award. Melissa Ly received the American History Award and Zainab Hassoun the American Citizenship Award. Melissa Ly also earned the All Around Outstanding Eight Grade Student Award. Tiffany Ashton was presented the Rotary Club International Award.
