Wedding coordinator wins award

DOWNEY – Downey native Marcie De Leon, owner of The Cucumber Bride wedding planning service, received one of the wedding industry’s top honors recently – the Wedding Wire Couples’ Choice Award 2015 for Day-of Wedding Coordination. The annual awards program recognizes the top 5 percent of Wedding Wire’s wedding professionals who demonstrate “excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism.”

Winners are determined on reviews from real newlyweds in their region.

De Leon resided in Downey from 1995 to 2009, attending Rio San Gabriel Elementary, East Middle School and Downey High, where she graduated in 2005.
