DOWNEY – Warren High School standout girls’ soccer player Emma Egizii has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer at UCLA.

Egizii did not play prep soccer at Warren but played with her club team Beach FC in Long Beach. Several players have chosen this route in recent years and it has become fairly common.

Egizii has played soccer since she was four years old and has also played for the Youth National Team since she was 14. She is a midfielder and likes an attacking style of play.

Egizii tore her ACL a little more than a year ago and has been putting in the time to once again compete at a high level of play.

Egizii said she chose UCLA for several reasons. It is close to home, she thinks UCLA offers a great opportunity for her to improve, she likes the culture surrounding the soccer program and she likes the Lady Bruin style of play.

Egizii models her play after National Team member (midfielder) Rose Lavelle.

After her playing career, whenever that is, she would like to pursue a career in coaching because she loves the sport and enjoys the tactical part of the game.

It has been a long road thus far for Egizzi but well worth where she is at.
