Warren High hosting blood drive Wednesday

DOWNEY — Warren High School, in partnership with the American Red Cross, will be holding a community blood drive on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

This event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is open to the entire Downey community.

A Red Cross Mobile Blood Bus will be located in the front parking lot of the Warren High School campus where both appointments and walk-in donors will be accepted.

Saving three lives per pint of blood donated, this bi-annual blood drive held by Warren High has helped save hundreds of lives over the course of its creation. According to the Red Cross, Warren High School is ranked second across California for most pints of blood donated by a high school.

This is the first time this blood drive has been coordinated to support community donations through the Mobile Blood Bus.

Blood donors should enter the campus via the Paramount Boulevard parking lot entrance. To schedule an appointment, email Noel Gomez at noelgomez2002@gmail.com.
