Walk for Life is Sept. 8

DOWNEY - The third annual Walk for Life, benefitting the Amazing Day Foundation and its work in raising awareness about suicide among college students, takes place Sept. 8 at Stonewood Center.Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. The opening ceremony starts at 7:45, followed by the walk at 8. Television reporter Dave Lopez will serve as emcee. Sheriff Lee Baca is also expected to make an appearance. The Amazing Day Foundation was formed in 2009 following the suicide of Sean Feliciano, a Downey High School grad who took his life while attending UC Santa Barbara.
