Valerie "June" Hollister

Valerie "June" Hollister, born in Los Angeles and long time resident of Downey, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2015 at the age of 88. She met her husband, Don, on a blind date, and they moved from Hollywood to Downey in 1956 with their 2 children.
June loved family activities, traveling, square dancing with the Downey Hoedowners, bowling & golf. She especially enjoyed the "Concert in the Park" every Wednesday night held at Furman Park where she & Don would gather with their many friends.
In 2007, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to be closer to their daughter.
June was preceded in death by Don, her husband of 66 years. She is survived by son Bruce, and his wife Cathe; daughter Donna, and her husband Randy; brother Byron; 5 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren.
