Tom Steyer campaign planting trees in Downey

DOWNEY — The campaign of presidential candidate Tom Steyer will be in Downey later this month for a tree-planting event. 

The public event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Participants will meet at Gauldin Elementary.

Steyer is not expected to attend but his son, Sam, will lead the event.

Volunteers are encouraged to attend and participate. All materials will be provided, as well as lunch.
