Tickets on sale for State of the Schools breakfast

DOWNEY -- DUSD Superintendent Dr. John Garcia will host the third annual State of the Schools breakfast Oct. 2. 

The breakfast begins at 7 a.m. in the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s West Conference Center. 

Attendees will hear the Downey Unified School District’s achievements and strategic direction. Garcia will also speak about the major programs being implemented at Downey schools, along with the school district’s new branding initiative. 

Tickets to the event are $25 with proceeds benefiting the TLC Family Resource Center. Last year’s State of the Schools event sold out with 330 guests in attendance, resulting in more than $5,000 for TLC.
