Textbooks open for viewing

DOWNEY - The public is invited to examine textbooks being considered for adoption by DUSD's board of education.The books would be used in middle and high school special education, high school English, high school foreign language, and high school math classes. The textbooks are in line with state codes and regulations, DUSD officials said. Copies of the books will be on display in the second floor lobby of the Gallegos Administration Center, 11627 Brookshire Ave., April 6 through May 11. The office is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The board of education is expected to recommend adoption of the books at its May 12 meeting. Suggestions or criticisms of the textbooks must be submitted in writing to the superintendent by May 5.
