Tdap vaccine now required

DOWNEY - New state immunization requirements mandate that students currently in 6th through 11th grade have the "Tdap" immunization on record before attending school next year.The Tdap vaccine guards against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough). Children must be vaccinated before they can attend school this fall. Vaccines are available at pharmacies, health clinics and periodically at school sites.
