Suspected DUI driver crashes into Downey library
DOWNEY – A man driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs was arrested after crashing his car into the Downey City Library early Thursday morning.
Sgt. Mike Parino of the Downey Police Department said the crash was reported at 1:33 a.m. The unidentified driver was still inside the vehicle when police arrived.
The driver had just been released from police custody hours earlier, officials said. He had been arrested on a traffic warrant.
Police conducted a field sobriety test and arrested the man for driving while intoxicated.
No injuries were reported.
