DOWNEY – After an impressive showing at the Los Angeles Regional FIRST Robotics’ Competition, Team 5851, Downey High School’s ‘Striking Vikings’ now have an opportunity to make their mark in front of an international stage in the World Championships in St. Louis.

In order to make this dream a reality, the Striking Vikings have launched a $35K fundraising campaign to be able to take all 33 members to the World Championships in St. Louis. The student-ran team has thus far fundraised $18,500.

All donations made to Stay Gallery for this cause will go directly to the Striking Vikings. They still need to fundraise $16,500 by April 8.

The Striking Vikings have begun a grass roots fundraising campaign by asking local businesses, organizations, and individuals for small contributions. They have also created an online platform to help with their efforts.
