State of the City address March 4

DOWNEY – Mayor Luis Marquez will deliver Downey’s annual State of the City address during a luncheon Wednesday, March 4, at the Rio Hondo Event Center. Marquez is expected to offer updates on current and future development projects, the city’s financial standing, his goals for 2015, and more.

“We have a lot of exciting things going on in our city and this is the perfect opportunity for me to share this information with our community,” said Marquez. “It’s important for our residents to be informed and engaged in what’s going on in our city.”

The luncheon is put together by the Downey Chamber of Commerce and begins at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by calling (562) 923-2191.

The event is open to the public and free to those who prefer not to eat lunch.
