State of the City address

Mayor Luis Marquez used his State of the City address Wednesday to publicly identify several more restaurants confirmed for the Promenade at Downey development, including Mod Pizza, Lazy Dog Cafe, Jersey Mikes, Rock And Brews, and Gaucho Grill. Cinemark Theatres, 24 Hour Fitness and Walmart also are expected to open at the complex.  

The mayor’s other big announcement was that the city has secured funding to finish street repairs on Lakewood Boulevard between Gallatin and Telegraph roads. No construction dates were mentioned.
