St. Raymond Church holding food drive for seniors

DOWNEY — St. Raymond Catholic Church is hosting a food drive Saturday to benefit low-income seniors.

Food such as rice, beans, bread, pasta and canned goods are needed, along with toiletries.

Donations will be distributed to seniors living in low-income housing provided by the Salvation Army. These apartments are located throughout Southern California.

Along with food donations, families are encouraged to have their children write letters to the seniors to help them cope with isolation.

Donations can be dropped off at St. Raymond Church this Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to noon.
