St. Pius-Matthias taps Warren High basketball coach as new AD
DOWNEY – Warren High boys basketball coach Christopher Morrison has been named athletic director at St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, effective July 1.
Morrison has been a teacher and varsity basketball coach at Warren High since 2014. Prior to that, he served in various athletic and coaching roles at Cal State L.A. and Cerritos College.
He also has experience at Catholic schools, having taught and served in athletic roles at Bishop Amat and St. Anthony high schools. He is an alumnus of St. Anthony High in Long Beach.
Morrison earned his BA in Management of Sports Programs from Western Washington University and a Masters of Education from National University.
"We are excited to welcome Christopher Morrison to the Warrior family," said Principal Erick Rubalcava. "His passion for catholic schools and the academic, spiritual and athletic development of our students makes him the perfect candidate."
