Space center paying tribute to fallen astronauts

DOWNEY – The Columbia Memorial Space Center will be hosting Astronaut Commemoration Day in remembrance of the Apollo 1, Challenger and Columbia crews on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be special presentations celebrating the lives of the astronauts, along with several space-related science activities for all to enjoy, in addition to giveaways.

Two filmmakers, Renee Sotile and Mary Joe Godges, will be in attendance, providing copies of their documentaries to all in attendance.

Admission to the event is $5, or free for space center members.
