Soroptimist planning events

BELLFLOWER - Bellflower Soroptimist will host two fundraising events in the coming weeks as they raise money for scholarships and community-based projects.The group will hold a dinner March 18 at Simms Park, where Soroptimist will donate money to charities and present two women with college scholarships. The non-profit will also give a monetary award "to a deserving woman who is striving to make a better life for herself by going back to college." Tickets to the dinner are $20. On Feb. 8, the non-profit will host a luncheon at First Missionary Baptist Church in Bellflower. Cost is $15.
