Sign-ups open for girls' b-ball

DOWNEY - The city of Downey's youth girls' basketball league begins Sept. 15 at Apollo Park.Registration is $140 and includes professional training and coaching, nine games and one all-star game, uniforms, L.A. Sparks practice jersey, awards and a voucher to a Sparks home game. Practice begins Sept. 15 and the regular season gets underway in October. The league is limited to 120 girls ages 8-15.
