Shantal Voorwinden

Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-34) thanked Shantal Voorwinden, of Downey, for her assistance in her Los Angeles district office during her 9-week summer internship that ends today. Voorwinden is currently attending Cerritos College where she is majoring in English and Communications. She is president of the Speech and Debate Club and was awarded the bronze medal in this year's Southern California Lincoln Douglas Debate Championships. She plans on completing her bachelor's at Cal State Long Beach and would like to one day enter public service.
