Sam Cochran was animal lover

DOWNEY – Sam I. Cochran, 68, passed away on April 28 at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA. He was born Oct. 30, 1946 in Downey but raised in Longview, WA where he attended St. Rose Catholic School and R.A. Long High School. Sam moved to Vancouver in 1966.

He was employed by Admiral & Evergreen Distributing, retiring in 2003, when he started A-One Tap Cleaning.

Sam is survived by his wife of 35 years, Helen Cochran; and his “special baby,” Macy. He leaves three daughters, Stephanie Cochran, Debbie Stillwell, and Teresa Stange; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; his sisters, Sharon Freeman and Sandy Klausen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Alice Cochran; and daughter, Shauna Cochran.

A Celebration of Life was held at the American Legion Post 14 in Washington on May 2.

Donations in Sam’s memory may be made to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.
