Safety expert tapped for meeting

LAKEWOOD - Byron Walls, who has been speaking on the subject of crime safety since 1980, will be guest speaker at the Sept. 9 meeting of the Hearing Loss Association's Long Beach/Lakewood chapter.The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Weingart Senior Center in Lakewood. Admission is free. Walls served as regional director of Citizens Against Crime in Portland and Seattle from 1984 to 1996, where he and his consultants spoke to more than 20,000 people a year on the topic "Living Safe in a Dangerous World."
