Robbery suspect arrested in Long Beach
DOWNEY — A man suspected in a series of armed gas station robberies, including at least one in Downey, was arrested in Long Beach.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect was arrested by Long Beach police officers on Aug. 26. His name was not released.
Police say the man robbed several Arco gas stations and 7-Eleven’s in Downey, Norwalk, Whittier, Long Beach, La Palma, Buena Park, Irvine and Costa Mesa.
Authorities secured a warrant and arrested the suspect in Long Beach without incident. He was in possession of a loaded handgun believed to be the weapon used in several of the robberies.
The suspect was booked for robbery and held on $200,000 bail. He was arraigned Aug. 30 at the Norwalk Courthouse.
