Report finds Downey 11th most densely populated small U.S. city

DOWNEY — A new study ranked Downey as the 11th most densely populated small city in the United States.

Researchers with Filterbuy, which conducted the study, ranked cities according to their population density per square mile.

From 2010 to 2019, the population density in Downey, CA decreased by 0.71%. In total, there are 8,955.7 residents in Downey per square mile.

According to the study, neighboring Norwalk ranks eighth among the most-densely populated small cities in the U.S., with a population density of 10,707 per square mile.
