Rancho exec to speak Thursday

DOWNEY - Greg Waskul, executive director of the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation benefiting Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, will speak before the Downey Historical Society on Sept. 23.Waskul will speak about the history of Rancho, from its inception as the county poor farm through the polio epidemic and emerging as the premier spinal injury treatment center. The talk begins at 7:30 p.m. in the John Downey Room at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center. The public is invited.
