Motorcyclist killed in traffic collision
DOWNEY -- A motorcyclist was killed Monday after colliding with a pick-up truck during rainy weather.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:29 a.m. at Stewart and Gray Road and Orizaba Avenue.
Authorities say the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Stewart and Gray when it collided with a 2005 Toyota Tacoma making a left turn from northbound Orizaba.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released but he was described as a 48-year-old Downey resident.
The driver of the Tacoma was an 18-year-old resident of Downey. He suffered no injuries and did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said. He was cooperative and released after an interview.
