Police make arrest in Raising Cane's attack
A 27-year-old man from Hawthorne has been arrested on charges that he attacked a fast food restaurant manager after the restaurant refused to serve him for cutting in line.
The attack occurred June 24 at Raising Cane’s restaurant at Stonewood Center, police said.
Deandre Lorick allegedly cut in front of other vehicles in the drive-thru, prompting the restaurant to refuse service. One of the occupants of Lorick’s vehicle filled a Gatorade bottle with what appears to be water and threw it at the manager, striking him in the face.
The vehicle fled westbound on Firestone Boulevard.
The attack was filmed by someone inside the vehicle and was subsequently posted online. As of Monday, the video has been seen more than 300,000 times on World Star Hip Hop.
Lorick faces a misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 25.
