PIH gala raises $540,000

DOWNEY – The 31st annual PIH Health Foundation Gala was held April 25 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa. This year’s sold out event, themed “Midnight at the Oasis”, was attended by more than 700 guests and raised a net of $540,000 to support PIH Health Dr. James P. Fitzgerald Spiritual Care Services.

“With Dr. Fitzgerald’s passing, our hearts were moved to do something that would recognize the spirit and impact his life had on PIH Health and our community,” said Rich Atwood, who along with his wife Annette and their family, made the lead donation to name Spiritual Care Services in honor of Dr. Fitzgerald’s legacy.

The gala is the largest annual fundraiser held in support of PIH Health. The event included a silent auction, which featured jewelry, designer handbags, electronics, luxury vacations, gift baskets, dinners and tickets to sporting events and local amusement parks, as well as a live auction which included a “Super Bowl 50 Experience,” a pair of Apple watches and a trip for two to Paris.
