Philippine artist to perform work

PARAMOUNT - Watercolor artist Juan "Magoo" Valencia will give a free demonstration Sunday at 2 p.m. at Progress Park Plaza, 15530 Downey Ave., in Paramount.The free demonstration is part of the regular meeting of the Downey Art League and Traditional Artist's Guild of Paramount. The public is invited. Valencia is a fine arts graduate from the University of the Philippines and has worked for almost 30 years at several advertising agencies as a layout artist and art director. He is a founding member of the Philippine Watercolor Society and has been a watercolor instructor at the Ayala Museum in the Philippines for three years. He regularly sits on judging panels in national art contests in the Philippines. Valencia's work has been the subject of eight one-man shows and more than 100 group shows.
