Pharmacy taking back old meds

DOWNEY - Downey Plaza Pharmacy at 11480 Brookshire Ave., Suite 102, is hosting a medication take-back event April 18 from 12-4 p.m., where residents can drop off their unused medicine and ensure they won't be abused by others.According to the FDA, "there is a small number of medicines that may be especially harmful and, in some cases, fatal in a single dose if they are used by someone other than the person the medicine was prescribed for." The event is being held in collaboration with pharmacists and student pharmacists from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy.
