Patricia Stringer was longtime resident

DOWNEY - Patricia C. Stringer, a member of First Baptist Church of Downey, passed away April 10 from an age-related illness. She was 89.She was born Oct. 3, 1919 in Dayton, Ohio to James and Edna Ray. She married Embert (Bert) Stringer on Feb. 14, 1940 and they were married for 69 years. They moved from Ohio to Downey in 1944. She is survived by her husband, Embert; three children, Susan Machowsky of Downey, Embert (Sonny) Stringer Jr. (Debra) of Whittier, and Paul (Patrice) Stringer of Draper, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James; sister, Dorothy; and great-grandchild, Lincoln. Services will be held today at Rose Hills Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. Condolences can be sent to embert@roadrunner.com.
