Patricia Jane Swartz

April 16, 1930 - December 23, 2016

Patricia (Pat) Jane Swartz, 86, passed away December 23, 2016, at Sunrise of Playa Vista Assisted Living Community.
She was born April 16, 1930 to John Adams Swartz and Edit Grace (Gunter) in Arizona.
After the death of her father in 1940 she and her mother moved to Downey, California to live with her maternal grandfather in his home at the corner of Firestone and Brookshire.
Pat graduated from Downey High School and soon went to work for the telephone company in Downey where she became the first woman dispatcher at that location. She retired from Verizon in 1987.
She was a member of and volunteered at the First Presbyterian Church. A resident of Downey since 1940, she moved to the Vintage Assisted Living Community in 2010.
Services will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Chapel in Rose Hills on January 3, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
