DOWNEY – Mayor Blanca Pacheco picked up a slew of endorsements after announcing her candidacy for state Assembly last week.
Pacheco, currently in her second term as Downey mayor, is seeking California’s 64th Assembly District seat, which includes Downey and other cities as far east as La Habra.
She had already been endorsed by L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn when Pacheco made her campaign public.
Since then, she has also picked up endorsements from state Sen. Bob Archuleta, L.A. County assessor Jeffrey Prang, and local officials including Downey council members Claudia Frometa and Mario Trujillo.
Also endorsing Pacheco are former mayors Alex Saab and Fernando Vasquez, along with school board members Nancy Swenson, Martha Sodetani, Linda Saldana and Giovanna Perez-Saab.
Pacheco has acquired 34 endorsements in total.
